Super Model among Birds
Monsoon season has been in full swing in Hyderabad, rain became unpredictable, Its have been continuously raining here specially on weekends which made up tough for me to go for birding.
But finally on this weekend of August weather was good and i made up my mind and went for birding, Didn't get much birds now on the lake as Fisherman has really occupied all the place and started fishing which is making up birds to move to other places.
Finally decided to capture the Super model among the birds, The Bee Eaters !! And now i am using a different technique to get closer...Sitting on my Bike and moving close to them without much movement with every shot has been turning up really good for me. This model was sitting on a perch and was looking for the bee, as soon as he see it, target it then move with the bee's movement, capture it and back to the perch again to clean its feathers and swallow it. That's how they kill for the meal !!
Rain was disturbing me, showering frequently and stopping and i had to keep my gear putting out and putting in from my backpack every time. Finally all time spent there turned out well it seem, These are the results what i got with Cannon EOS 1100 D with 55-250 lens. The setting used was Aperture Priority mode with F8 Handheld :)

Scaly-breasted Munia (Lonchura punctulata)
It was a sunny morning after a wait of two weekends, and I was at my favorite destination @ Ameenpur lake for the Birding..Thanks to the Farmers who has just seeded their fields and these small beauties started gathering on shrubs around the fields for their breakfast... Funny thing was Farmer was trying to get them off from the fields and as soon as he moves to different place they start to gather again on that shrub.. I decided not to waste the time and just sit around near that shrub and keep waiting and finally a group turned up again..took my first shot and just waited then one of them started preening the bill of another one, that made up my shot for the day :)
Here is some more info about them on Wikipedia :

Got some more shots of them alone, One thing is sure these small beauties are one hell of a poser and can burn any Ramp :)

The Indian Silverbill or White-throated Munia (Euodice malabarica)
The Name Indian Silverbill she got looks quite obvious, Look at the bills silver in color and found in India so Indian Silverbill !!
I have been trying to capture Indian Silverbill from last couple of weeks, but was not able to get close as i got on 8th, July 2012. Initially there was group of five who were sitting on the shrub, as i started getting closing by, one by one started flying off, but this beauty seems to be not affected or she just wanted to give pose as she knew me from last 2-3 weeks as i have been trying to get nearby to get her shot :)

The Indian Robin (Saxicoloides fulicatus )
Indian Robin Female, Very familiar in Indian Outskirts, you can find her any where, at your balcony, on your roof, in paddy fields and often seen running along the ground or perching on low thorny shrubs and rocks.
I spotted her in botanical Garden in Hyderabad, where i was sitting to get some action sequences of Red Vented Bulbul, Then Robin started moving around me trying to grab my attention i believe, she was not afraid of coming near me and finally she changed my Cannon to focus towards her and i grabbed some different postures of her. All the shots are from Cannon EOS 1100D and with Cannon 55-250 Lens handheld. Read more info about her here Wikipedia : (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Robin)

There has to be one story about every photo, This Owlet I spotted on 9th June 2012, First view and i was admired by its beauty, Took some shots but bad light and i wasn't able to get any detail, another weekend and i spotted him again but bad timing and he flew.... Then on 23rd of June spotted him again in the morning took shots but again bad light, went to another spots for capturing some more birds, but he was always in my mind that i have to capture him anyhow...and went back in afternoon and spotted him with his mate this time ...One of them flew away but another one was interested to pose for me in perfect Light and here is the picture of it !!
This shot was take by Cannon EOS 1100D with 55-250 Lens, had to stand on Rock to get a better and clear view...But happy with the Result all patience paid off :)
Some Info about the Owlet ---The Spotted Owlet (Athene brama) is a small owl which breeds in tropical Asia from India to Southeast Asia.
